Metaphor

A daydream is like a hot air balloon.
It ascends slowly until we are well away from earth.
We become unaware of what our friends are doing or saying,
so far away are we.
We feel free and relieved from our daily worries.
Our head is literally in the clouds, miles away from all else.
We enjoy the view and our own thoughts.
Retiring to the middle of the balloon’s basket.
We start to descend and drop into our friends’ conversation.
Nobody noticed our escapade.
Nobody cares, not even me.
